Pet sleeping bed

Expert opinion on this issue has long been divided. Some people think this is acceptable because dogs are part of the family. Putting Fido to bed does not affect people’s sleep, according to a Mayo Clinic study.
“Today, many pet owners spend most of the day away from their pets, so they want to maximize their time with their pets at home.” “It’s an easy way to keep them in the bedroom at night. Now pet owners can rest easy knowing it won’t negatively impact their sleep.”
Others, however, counter that by being literally on the same level as the owner, the dog thinks they are also on the same level, figuratively, and increases the likelihood that your dog will challenge your authority.
In most cases, we would say that there are no problems. If your relationship with your dog is healthy, meaning they treat you with love and kindness and respect the house rules and boundaries you set, sleeping in your bed shouldn’t be a problem.
        1. Your dog is suffering from separation anxiety. Your dog needs to learn to be comfortable being alone. If they sleep in your bed, you lose the opportunity to train them to physically separate from you in your presence, which is an important first step in dealing with separation issues.
        2. Your dog is being aggressive towards you. Or they have their own ideas about who is really in charge. When asked to get out of bed, these dogs purse their lips, growl, hit or bite. They can also do the same when someone rolls over or moves while sleeping. If this describes your dog, he is not the best choice for a bed partner!
        3. Your dog is a Great Dane or other large dog that steals blankets. Who needs a giant fluffy blanket thief?
If any of the above does not apply to you, please invite Rover to your place. Dogs are not only cute, but also great for warming the bed on cold nights!
